I would like to introduce the 1st International Psychological Conference in Cambodia planned for November 9, 10, 11 and 12 2010.
This conference will bring to light the continuous and often ignored needs of women, men, and children in plight and suffering from mental illness, ignored by society and often shamed by society and family.
Cambodia has limited resources to help those suffering from mental illness – limited education, experience, training, treatment centers, and qualified professional in order to help those in need. This conference is to bring awareness to psychology in a country that has suffered so much and with mental health rates estimated between 50% and 80%.
Our goal is to help a country in dire need and to bring the suffering and lack of support in Cambodia to the attention of the world and to continue to train local professionals and outreach centers.
I would like to invite ALL people involved in mental health including professionals, students, related organizations, government and non government organizations and any people with interest in the field and its impact on Cambodia.
If you have any ideas or assistance, or would like to partake in this groundbreaking conference or provide a presentation, you are welcome to present your ideas to the conference and make yourself heard and help to educate others. We will be inviting top professional from around the world as well as local professionals to discuss groundbreaking and interesting topics for Cambodia and the world of Psychology.
